Movie Reel Table
Did you know that you can make a functional movie reel table out of old film reels?
Movie reels can add a decorative flair to your home theater in a variety of ways. You'll often find these on display on the walls of a home theater room. They come in many different sizes, styles, and colors. Some are even highly collectible among movie enthusiasts.
I've found ebay to be an excellent source for purchasing these items. Other excellent sources include antique malls, consignment shops, flea markets, auctions, and yard or garage sales. Typically, Goldberg & Bros. reels are the most sought after by collectors and the one's that I personally find the most attractive.
You can design the table a couple of different ways, so you don't necessarily have to have a piece of glass on the top. I've seen these built with a piece of wood or some other material underneath the top movie reel, which allows you to use the table to hold your glasses and cups.
And there you have it! A simple, yet innovative idea for customizing the look of your home theater.
