Plasma Tv layout and mounting

A couple of things that I have done is to first identify and mark all stud centers on the wall with masking tape. I then create a cardboard "mockup" of the exact tv dimensions with the tv bezel as a "frame". I use this cardboard template of the plasma tv, to position on the wall to visually verify the centering in the room, the height to the ceiling, the center to seating level, as well as the position of the center channel speaker. With the stud centers marked I can easily find the best position of the tv wall mount within the cardboard frame box (tv outline), using masking tape. Also I then transfer the general locations of the electrical connection points to the wall using masking tape lines. With all that info layed out with masking tape I can best determine the location of the access hole to hide the wires and avoid conflicts, (before cutting the wall hole). Also I use a wall cutout box sleeve that will accept a cover plate to finish the wall mount. I double check all dimensions and stud locations before drilling or cutting.
Thanks
